Dr. Dana believes the body has the ability to heal with the right support. She uses a gentle approach to address the root cause of problems and promote healing. She treats a wide variety of conditions. Her areas of focus include Autoimmune disorders, Chronic disease, Food sensitivities, Skin conditions, and Healing after injuries.
She got her start in medicine working on FDA clinical trials in San Francisco and found her way to Naturopathic Medicine while helping her mother through a successful bout with breast cancer. She believes her mission is to teach people how to understand and take better care of their bodies. Accordingly, she takes a lifestyle-first approach, with nutrition and lifestyle changes forming the cornerstones of treatments and draws on botanical medicine, physical medicine and homeopathy when appropriate. She’s also a bit of a science nerd and incorporates new trials and research into her practice.
Dr. Dana grew up constantly outside in the Ozark Mountains and the Willamette Valley. She received a BA in Creative Writing from Dartmouth College, where she also ran track and cross-country. She returned to the West Coast after college and completed medical school at the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM). She also completed a certificate program with New England School of Homeopathy.
Dr. Dana lives in Southeast Portland with her husband. She enjoys growing, foraging, cooking, and--most importantly--eating food, and is often found outside, running, gardening, camping, or at the river.
