Dr. Deanna Doctor is a licensed naturopathic physician who practices medicine with heart, compassion, creativity, and skill. She values her time with her patients and pays attention to every detail in order to offer the highest quality of care. Dr. D has been trained by leading experts in her field in the areas of general medicine and gastroenterology. She especially loves treating gastrointestinal cases involving constipation, diarrhea, SIBO, Crohn's/Ulcerative Colitis, GERD/acid reflux, diverticulitis, and general GI discomfort. Outside the "GI" world, she highly enjoys treating autoimmune disease, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, chronic headaches, skin issues, sleep issues, hormonal issues (thyroid, diabetes, women's health, etc), high blood pressure and high cholesterol, anxiety and depression, as well as general lifestyle counseling for those who are simply looking to live a healthful, high quality life.
Dr. Deanna takes the principles of naturopathic medicine to heart and believes that the body has the innate ability to heal itself when supported by healthful choices and natural remedies. Her approach is to use the most natural and gentle forms of medicine and lifestyle counseling in order to promote genuine healing. She loves to use homeopathy, botanical medicine, nutrition, and massage.
Dr. D discovered naturopathic medicine when she was only 16 years old and has since known in her heart that her true purpose is to help others heal genuinely and naturally. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Ramapo College of New Jersey and her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, OR. She has additional certifications in homeopathy and yoga.
In her free time, Dr. Doctor loves to relax in her hammock, go on long walks by the river with her dog, and move her body with yoga, barre, jogging, hiking, or dancing. She also enjoys drawing, reading and writing poetry, and creating new recipes in the kitchen!
